REVIEW: A LOT LIKE HOME (THE SEAL's OF SUPERSTITION SPRINGS BOOK #1) BY KAT CANTRELL

BETH'S REVIEW

A LOT LIKE HOME
(SEAL'S OF SUPERSTITION SPRINGS SERIES BOOK #1)

BY KAT CANTRELL

4 STARS

The story is set in a very small town founded by a group of artists, and whose only mindset was for everyone to have their own space they could use to create art. A lot of years have passed since the town was founded and there's is fewer people living in Superstition Springs.  People started moving to Austin trying to move toward progress.  There is a group of five navy seals that have met Serenity, one of the town's original inhabitants, via letters, as she used to write to all five of the Seal's.  When tragedy strikes and the team members find themselves discharged from the Navy, they feel the need to help Serenity save the town she loves so much.  There are some predictions that have been made to all the SEAL's, and not even that fact detours them from the mission they have sworn to see through.

What they don't know is that they are not the only ones with predictions made for them, and there are more things that the town being in trouble that awaits these valiant heroes.  Will they get to town with enough time to elaborate a plan and save the townspeople properties of being sold?  Havana has been in town since her parents died and, she finds herself taking care of her youngest sisters because her aunt Serenity forgets how or when to deal with them.  This take-charge attitude is one that will get her in trouble when she tries to have a relationship.  Will Caleb, the handsome leader of the SEAL's be the one person that will get her to let her guard down? Will she be able to do that and give herself to him?

I loved this story because is the kind you would find in the Hallmark Channel at any given point in time, however, for me, the story starts very interestingly and at some point the situation the SEAL's had overseas is lost in translation, to say it someway. We know why they are there, yet we can't see the distress they suffered reflected at any point in the story. I know there are other books coming in the series so I will see how this issue works itself out as the books come out. For that reason, I gave the book a 4-star review.
