***THE TROUBLE WITH TROUBLE BY WRIN KERN - RELEASE BLITZ***

Title: The Trouble With Trouble
Series: Trouble #5
Author: Erin Kern
 Release Date: November 10, 2014

SYNOPSIS

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Right? Well, Courtney Devlin has had her fair share of lemons in life and, quite, frankly, she’s sick of lemonade. After a life-altering car accident and ending her engagement, Courtney spends the next four years putting the pieces of her broken heart back together. She’s tough and determined not to let her vulnerabilities get the best of her and has made a career for herself as an interior designer. And things finally start clicking into place when her boss puts her in charge of her own design job: A complete overhaul and redesign of her brother’s restaurant, McDermott’s Steakhouse.

The only problem? Her brother, Chase, isn’t the one she’ll be working with. It’s her ex-fiancĂ©e. Grant Blackwood.

After Courtney called him a “no good cheating rat-bastard”, Grant left Trouble, Wyoming. The biggest mistake of Grant’s life was allowing Courtney Devlin to slip through his fingers. He knows he screwed up big-time and he’s spent the last four years regretting the way their relationship ended. Then, after his father falls ill, Grant returns to Trouble and takes a job as the general manager of Chase McDermott’s restaurant.

Grant knows better than anyone that getting involved with Courtney Devlin is like playing with fire. She’s feisty, determined and honest to a fault. But he’s never stopped loving her, and plans on using her new job with him as a way of showing her he’s a changed man. However, he’s unprepared for how much hotter the spark is between them.

Seems as though time away couldn’t diminish what Courtney and Grant once had with each other.

Then she spotted him. Or, rather his legs. Slightly bent at the knees, covered in a pair of shiny basketball shorts and moving up and down, in the doorway of his office, as though being lifted. As she came closer to his office, the movements of his legs made sense.
A pull-up bar installed at the top of the door frame.
And then the rest of him. Not clothed. As in bare-chested, muscles contracting as he lifted himself chin-level with the bar, then slowly lowered again. Then lifted. Then lowered.
Oh Lord.
“Are you going to say something, or should I keep going so you can stand there and watch?” Grant asked in a surprisingly non-winded voice as he continued his reps.
Courtney wasn’t sure she could do even one of those, much less sound so calm while doing so.
Her eyes remained glued to his torso, specifically how dangerously close those shorts were to slipping right off his narrow hips. And, yeah, white boxer briefs looked spectacularly amazing against tanned skin. Especially when that skin was pulled tight over a freakin’ eight pack.
“I don’t understand what’s going on here.” And, dammit, did she have to sound like she was on the verge of a really good orgasm? Why couldn’t he work out with a shirt on? Or, better yet, not have a body that could have been sculpted from granite?
“What does it look like?” he asked as he touched his chin to the bar, then lowered himself again.
“Well, it kind of looks like you’re doing something other than what you asked me here for.” And torturing me in the process!
“Maybe, maybe not,” he replied with a half a smile.
She stabbed her hands on her hips. “Did I get the day wrong?”
Grant touched his chin to the bar one last time, then dropped to the floor, landing on his feet with the grace of a ballerina. A one-hundred and eighty pound, six-foot-three ballerina.
“No, you got the time wrong.” He hooked his hands on his lean hips and stared at her. A single bead of sweat rolled down in between his pecs, then traced the contour of his abs before being absorbed by the elastic band of his briefs.
She yanked her gaze to his face and willed the heat to seep out of her cheeks. “I’m ten minutes early.”
“You’re twenty minutes late.” He spun around and sauntered into his office. “I told you noon.”
She followed him, secretly congratulating herself for not ogling his cement-hard ass. “You said twelve-thirty.”
Grant swiped a towel off his desk and rubbed it over his face. “No. I specifically remember saying twelve.”
Shit, now she was second guessing herself. Had he said twelve? She’d written twelve-thirty but that had been after she’d hung up the phone with him to schedule the meeting. In the past, her short-term memory had a way of altering itself. She’d been positive she’d heard twelve-thirty, but since she hadn’t written it down the second he’d said the time, it was possible she’d gotten it wrong.
“I can tell by the look on your face that you’re remembering more accurately.” He cupped a hand behind his ear. “Go ahead, you can say it.”
Oh, now the gorgeous bastard was asking for it. Would Chase kill her if she strangled every last cocky breath from his manager’s lungs?
“What, that you’re just as smug as you were four years ago?” she countered instead. Admitting to herself that she was wrong was one thing. Saying that to Grant? She’d rather tar and feather herself.
His only response was a chuckle. The deep throated kind that skittered along her nerve endings like a pebble hopping over the glassy surface of a lake.
“Always something to say,” he commented with a shake of his head. Then he hooked his thumbs into the waistband of his shorts, and pushed them down his legs.
Panic shot through her system faster than it took him to step out of his shorts. “Wait, what’re you doing?”
Holy Guacamole, if he stripped out of those boxers she’d have an aneurysm. Bad enough the cotton material was so tight over every ridge of muscle, he might as well not even be wearing the things.
One of his brows crept up his forehead. “What does it look like? Feel free to stay and watch.”
And then he dropped the boxers.

AUTHOR BIO

I started writing back in 2004 and six years later self-published the third book I wrote. Two years after that I landed a contract with Grand Central Publishing.

Now I'm just chugging along, spitting out books faster than my kids can turn my living room into a disaster zone...

Actually, that's not entirely true. I only wish it were true.

But in all seriousness, I write sassy and sexy contemporary romances for Forever Romance. My Trouble series is available online and wherever paperbacks are sold.

** CONTENT WARNING - ADULT LANGUAGE **

As much as I’d tried to push the words from my mind since I’d heard them, Shaun’s voice was still ringing loudly in my ear. “Do you love me, Rumor?”

She looked hurt that I’d even ask her that, but I had to. “Of course. I fell in love with you when I was eighteen, Brody.”

“I know that,” I rubbed my hands on my knees to wipe away the sweat. “But are you in love with me now?”

She nodded, but it was automatic and prompted by her stubbornness, and I knew that.

"Then why won’t you say it? I’ve said it to you. I’ve told you I love you. Several times. You haven’t said it back to me once.”

The tears were welling up in her eyes, but I couldn’t do anything to stop them. I needed her to tell me the truth. Even if it hurt us both.

“I don’t know why I haven’t said it, Brody. They’re just not words I use. Doesn’t mean I don’t feel them.”

But that wasn’t enough for me. “Just say it now. Say, I love you, Brody. And I’ll believe you. I’ll believe in us. I’ll believe that we can make it even if we’re on opposite ends of the country, with me working my quiet accounting job and you out there pursuing fame and fortune as a rock and roll goddess. But I need to hear it, Rumor. Please.”

Her hands came up to wipe her eyes and she sniffed loudly. She lifted her gaze from her lap and met mine. Then her mouth opened and I could tell she was struggling to get the words out. When she finally did, they weren’t what I’d expected.

Dog Lover who likes her pastries full of cream and sugar….oh…and I write some ;-)

Aside from being an author, I am also a mom to a beautiful 5 year old little girl. I tell everyone I named her after my great-grandmother (because that’s the mature answer), but really, I named her after my favorite princess – just so happens I got lucky and they had the same name…If I wasn’t a writer, I would work on a horse ranch – I’m an animal lover (in addition to dogs, horses are at the top of my list). I wear flip-flops pretty much everywhere I go. I would rather stay awake until 5 am than get up at 5 am (years of bar tending have left their mark), if I can, I’m going to the beach AND I will always be nice to people who bring me chocolate…or coffee…if you bring me both, I’ll probably love you forever.

A gypsy at heart, I write the way I live, following the story wherever it may lead, always ready to start the next one. This is clearly reflected in my body of work which to date includes everything from Children’s Lit to Thrillers.

I happily reside in sunny Florida ( for now) and always enjoy hearing from fellow readers!!

Review

Getting into this book I really didn't know what to expect because it was the first boot I read from K. T. Fisher, with that said, I will recommend you read this in order even though the previous stories won't be told through retrospect here there will be some spoiler as to how they end.

This story is amazingly good, I fell in love with the characters in this story, and the ones of its predecesors.  K. T. Fisher took my emotions in a journey, loss, happiness, sadness.  All the hotness of those men.

Max and Mayse's relationship is changing and is a beautiful journey to watch, even when people and events come at them trying to get them apart, the love they feel for one another prevails.  The way this story was told, I have to say I laughed with Max's cockiness, and some of the other characters dialogues, principally the guys, but I cried at some points too.

Definitely Rockstar's Temptation get a 5 star review from me.

Prologue

Prologue

Max

“Oh god!” she screams below me. “Fuck me, Max, fuck me harder!”
It’s a good thing the music and shouting from outside this room is loud enough to drown out her screaming!
Today, the girls have thrown a welcome home party for Tanya and Leo because they missed them so much. Probably because they were on their honeymoon for a month! It was only supposed to last two weeks, but Leo had rung home and let us known that he wasn’t done having time alone with his new wife, and that he wouldn’t be home for another two weeks.
All day, I’ve been holding back my fucking hard cock, just watching her. She doesn’t even know that she’s teasing me, tempting me, but she does. Every damn day!
To make it worse, because the weather is good for an English summer day, the girls decided it was perfect for a pool party. Not everyone came in their swim suits, but she did. As the kids scream and laugh, splashing about, my attention is always on her. I don’t know what to do with it or how to deal with it all. As I watched her laughing pool side with Kendal and the triplets, Finley decided to splash his mum, but instead he soaked the wrong person. He drenched her through, the woman I’ve been lusting over. Her bikini became wet and clung to her body and her now wet breasts became my focus point as her nipples hardened under the wet material.
Just the thought makes me pound into the girl under me. That’s the only reason she’s here with me, in a spare bedroom overlooking the party below us. As soon as the woman outside stood up, showing me her perfect body that’s shimmering with the water, I grabbed the nearest girl and dragged her away. As I take this lucky woman from behind, it’s not her face I’m picturing, it’s the woman who has fucked with my head ever since I met her! It’s not the blonde’s hair below me that I see as I pull it back, it’s the blackness of hers I long to wrap around my fist. The blonde under me is too skinny, she needs a few extra pounds and maybe some curves. Her ass isn’t as bouncy, either, and I want more cushion as I pound harder on her ass.
Fuck!
This isn’t fucking working! I’m about to stop, but I hear her laugh and for a second I pause. The sound reignites my fire inside and I fuck the blonde again. Unbelievably, my luck doubles. I don’t just hear her laugh, but through the gap of the curtains in the room I’m taking up right now, I see her! I watch as she steps from the pool, water falling from her body like a fucking porn star! I thrust one last time, not thinking about the body below me, and come undone from watching Maisy alone.

Aubrey is damaged and scarred. She’s running from a past that has the ability to destroy her. It’s not just herself that she needs to protect. She’s fighting to save her sister. He wants her back, that much is clear. She just hopes that when the time comes, she’s strong enough to save them all…. **Please note this is the second book in the Wrecked Series. It can be read as a stand alone and it is not necessary to have read Wreck You, however reading Wreck You first may give you some background to Daws. This book is intended for mature audiences as it has graphic scenes involving sex and child abuse. The use of the F bomb is frequently thrown around so if that offends you, I wouldn't recommend reading this.

fight you teaser 1

Excerpt

“Get Lost.” I say to the ladies, standing in line outside of the bathroom. I get a few dirty looks but they know who I am. They’re at our event and my vest clearly says don’t fuck with me. There are only two stalls in the bathroom and luckily as soon as I walk in the last woman is opening the stall to leave. “Out!” I command and then turn the lock on the door so no one disturbs us. I see her ruby slippers sticking out the side of the stall. I open the door, which luckily was left unlatched. One hand is over her head braced against the wall. Her breaths are labored, rushing in and out like she is struggling to catch it. She hasn’t let her panic attack take her fully yet, but she is closed off enough that I don't think she knows I’m here.

“Aubrey, take deep breaths sweet girl. Breathe for me.” I keep my voice low and as soft as it will go. I start to rub circles on her back whispering the same thing over and over again, hoping like hell that I can calm her nerves. By some stroke of luck it seems to be working, her breathing is starting to even out. “Daws?” She questions finally realizing it’s my voice she’s hearing. I’ve done my best to keep a safe distance from her, but I can’t help it. I grab her hand from the wall and spin her around cradling her in my arms. She smells so sweet, like berries, probably too sweet for me but right now all I want to do is to comfort her. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry you heard that. I’m a dick. I am. You don’t have to be afraid of me though. I promise I won’t hurt you. Just breathe for me. Okay? Just breathe for me.” She curls into me. Actually wraps her arms around my waist and curls into me. Her blue and white checkered outfit and her pigtails make her look young and innocent. She looks up at me, her green eyes emitting pain. “I’m not scared of you,” those words escape her lips in the softest tone barely audible. I want to kiss her and caress her but I know she isn't ready for that. She surprises me by reaching up on her tip toes and kissing me on the cheek. “I’m okay,” she says as her fake smile masks her pain. I stroke my thumb over her cheek. “Don’t do that,” I say then lean down close to her ear. “Don’t pretend with me.” She doesn’t give in to my quiet plea though. She backs away from me, straightens her skirt, walks out the stall door and leaves the bathroom.
